Let me start by saying… I LOVE Pure Beginnings Products.
Before they sent me these lovely products to review, I have already fallen in love with their Natural Insect Repellant (saved little Knox’s life while we were in Upington), their Fluoride Free Fresh Mint Toothpaste for adults, the kiddie Berry Toothpaste and their Soothing Baby Lotion. It all started with my little girl, Mikayla, who struggles with mild eczema and sensitive skin. I started researching all the products we use in every day life and the realization of how much chemicals and harmful ingredients I was unknowingly putting my family in contact with made my stomach turn. That also led to my realization of how many of our every day household and beauty products were being tested on live animals (you can read my article on animal testing here). Needless to say, we needed a whole lifestyle change, and that is where I discovered Pure Beginnings amongst many other amazing, natural South African Brands. Since then, Mikayla’s eczema has not flared up once – she gets an itchy skin every now and then after swimming or going to the beach, but then we put on some natural body lotion and off she goes. The difference this lifestyle change has made is astounding.
So, the reason I love all these Pure Beginnings products so much is because they are not harmful to the environment or yourself, they are animal-cruelty free and they work. All the Pure Beginnings Products are organically formulated with certified organic ingredients. Pure Beginnings products do not contain parabens, petrochemicals, sulphated surfactants such as SLS, ethoxylated or PEG ingredients, propylene glycol, as well as any synthetic fragrances, preservatives or colourants.
They were nice enough to send me their Baby Shampoo & Bodywash as well as their Kiddies Bubble Bath to review. I was already using their Soothing Baby Body Lotion, so I thought I would tell you more abut that too too.
Let’s start with the Baby Shampoo and Bodywash – Knox loves to bath, he is a total water baby and it is always such a fun experience. The first time around I used a little too much shampoo and it made way too much foam and took longer to wash out. You really only need to use a drop – which is amazing as that will make your product last longer and save you money. As a bodywash it worked wonderfully and it smells divine. Do not expect the normal baby scent though – it smells like rosemary and geranium. This mild Baby Shampoo and Bodywash contains Boabab extract which helps soothe and moisturize. It’s non-toxic, soap-free, eco-friendly and wonderfully therapeutic. It comes in a handy pump-bottle dispenser for one-handed use, so you don’t have to fuss with a lid. Perfect for moms with their hands full!
I’ve been using the Soothing Baby Lotion since Knox was born and absolutely love it. It smells like rosemary and lavender and leaves his skin moisturized and protected. It contains soothing baobab extract as well as shea butter which is extremely good for your skin – so it will leave mom’s hand smooth as a baby’s bottom as well!
Last, but not least – The Kiddies Fun Time Bubble Bath. What child does not like bubble bath?? For such a long time bubble bath was banned from our home, it caused Mikayla’s eczema to flare up and made her itchy for days after. Because the Fun Time Bubble bath is made with a non irritating formula containing natural and organic ingredients, no nasty parabens, petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances, alcohol or animal products it is so gentle on her sensitive skin and no itching to report! It’s citrus and ylang ylang scented, smells divine.
So don’t just take my word for it, try it out yourself. They have an amazing range of products to choose from – kids, baby and for the grown-ups.
You can also stand the chance to win an amazing Pure Beginnings hamper containing the 100% Natural Insect Repellant (25ml), the Natural Aqueous Cream (250ml), the Soothing Baby Bum Cream with Boabab (125ml), the Soothing Baby Lotion with Boabab (200ml), the Soothing Baby Wash & Shampoo (200ml) and the Gentle Organic Baby Wipes with Aloe and Boabab. Holy crap that’s a lot!
